		<description>Fine post, but I agree with Marko on educating younger staff. It can open their eyes and make them good developers faster. But maybe even more importantly, you can assess what the developer is aiming for, and if he likes what he does at all. Some people don&#039;t have high goals with development, nor thirst for knowledge. There&#039;s nothing wrong with that, but team leaders should be aware of that, so they can maximize the output of these developers without expecting too much from them. Exposing them to wider knowledge shows these patterns quickly.</description>

		<description>Excellent post and I agree with most of it. What&#039;s missing is a caveat that hiring advice is limited to their knowledge and ability to learn and doesn&#039;t take into an account other aspects that might significantly influence their ability to be a productive team member.

I disagree with notion that every request for team leadership is a request for more money even if that is often true. I believe it is often a request for more responsibility and freedom.

I also firmly believe that junior developers showing potential and eagerness to learn should be sent to conferences. It&#039;s usually then when such events are most helpful to them.</description>
